The LedgerX exchange specializing in cryptocurrency derivatives added a call option to the listing, which will allow holders to purchase Bitcoin for $ 100,000 in December 2020.
According to the representatives of the exchange, institutional clients with assets from $ 10 million to $ 1 billion have already expressed interest in such a derivative.
“I understand that $ 100,000 is a tidy sum. But many people remember Bitcoin for $ 1, then it reached $ 10, $ 100, and then $ 10,000. Therefore, no one even blinked when he heard about such a contract, ”said the exchange head Paul Chow.
Note that with a price of $ 100,000, Bitcoin’s market capitalization will reach $ 2 trillion.
Earlier, LedgerX received a license from the Authorized Derivatives Market (DCM) from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which will allow it to launch the country’s first bitcoin-based futures.
Nevertheless, some experts expressed the opinion that the obtained permissions would not allow the exchange to provide margin tools for such a product.
